Applications of Biological assemblies in Nanobiotechnology
Abstract
Biological assemblies are considered the functional form of the molecules that have several applications in nanobiotechnology such as gene delivery and gene silencing, nanolithography, fabrication of conductive nanowires, cell targeting, bioimaging, drug delivery, purification, detection and delivery of proteins, gene transfection, colorimetric detection of copper ions and melanoma therapy. The biomolecular assembly also plays an integral part, through short-lived microscopic activities like guiding genetic code transcription, gene translation through proteins, and signaling between and within cells, to constructing long-lived macroscopic structures like collagen networks & amyloid plaques.
